Transforming Education Through Collaboration
LEAP represents a groundbreaking partnership between CTAC and ECISD, aimed at revitalizing educational performance in high-need schools. Our journey began with a shared vision: to create a learning environment where every student thrives. Together, we identified ten schools within ECISD facing significant challenges and set out to empower educators, cultivate leadership, and foster student success.
LEAP into Action
The story of LEAP is one of collaboration, dedication, and transformation. CTAC and ECISD joined forces, bringing together expertise, resources, and passion to drive meaningful change. Through LEAP, we developed a comprehensive approach to address the unique needs of high-need schools, focusing on human capital management, equity in access, and diversity in the educator workforce.
Three Key Components To
Driving Excellence in Education
LEAP's mission is guided by three key components, each aimed at transforming education and empowering educators. Through these objectives, we aim to enhance teaching, strengthen leadership, and foster diversity—ultimately driving excellence in education and improving student outcomes.
1. Developing and Retaining Talent
Accelerate novice teachers' abilities, strengthen principal’s instructional leadership, establish A-ILTs to increase schools’ instructional leadership capacity, and develop A-ILTs’ and teachers’ abilities to serve diverse learners.
2. Aligning Incentives to Instructional Priorities
Reward improvement in ELAR and math instruction, and recruit effective principals to high-need schools.
3. Building and Expanding the Capacity of a Diverse Workforce
Recruit, support, and retain diverse teachers, and provide pathways for them to transition into leadership roles.
Ector County Independent School District is on the rise: A Journey of Transformation
ECISD's remarkable journey of growth and progress saw its overall score rise from 67 to 82, marking a significant turnaround.
